Raquel Durden

Hello and Welcome!
So glad you've found your way here. If you're exploring this space, you're likely someone who values resilience, transformative growth, and living with intention. I'm truly honored to connect with you. I'm a proud hometown girl from Manitowoc (pronounced Man-ih-to-wok), Wisconsin, shaped by Midwest values, military discipline, and a lifelong heart for service. From shoveling snowy sidewalks for neighbors to deploying with fellow service members, I've always been a helper, encourager, and connector. My energy and passion are rooted in my upbringing and magnified by life's many chapters and challenges, each one adding depth to my dedication to the well-being of others.

I've served more than two decades in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, paratrooper, and combat veteran. While the majority of my career was spent as a military intelligence analyst, I also gained experience in finance and recruiting. That diversity taught me how to transform complex, high-stakes information into clear, actionable insights--a skill I now bring into my writing, speaking, and leadership. Educated at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the State University of New York-Oswego, where I earned my MBA, my career has taken me to 40+ countries. A global perspective has only strengthened my belief in two universal pillars of well-being: community connection and holistic wellness.

My first book, Dial Down: Holistic Strategies to Move from Chaos to Calm, was born out of my own healing journey and desire to support others, especially veterans and first responders. Written during quiet afternoons in Georgia and summer stays on Wisconsin's Lake Michigan shoreline, the book reflects a unique blend of military precision (evidenced-based research) and holistic wisdom (experiential application). My writing journey was reignited during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when stillness gave way to reflection, research, and clarity. Today, I lead Humble Warrior Wellness & Yoga, a nonprofit dedicated to the holistic support of women veterans and first responders. As an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher and continuing education yoga provider, sound bath facilitator, and holistic wellness advocate, I share practical tools to help people cultivate calm, reclaim balance, and build resilience from the inside out. Every practice I teach is one I live by, especially those that carried me through advanced-stage cancer treatment.

When I'm not working, you'll find me enjoying life with my husband Dave, also a combat veteran, our son Tyler, a combat veteran who still serves, and our bonus daughter-in-law Madison, an attorney. We all share a love of travel, motorcycle riding, scuba diving, and a heart for animals. Our rescue dog Grace routinely accompanies me when I teach yoga, and I've hosted goat (really barnyard) yoga for the local pet sanctuary, Sweet Olive Farm.  I believe in walking the talk, doing the inner work, and showing up with integrity. My mission is simple: to inspire people to live as Wellness Weavers...no matter what life brings!
